Peter Mengede

 

Brisbane born guitarist Peter Mengede has over 30 years playing and performing experience. As a founding member of the New York Lower East Side band Helmet  he toured internationally alongside artists such as Faith No More, Nirvana, Ministry, The Jesus Lizard,  The Melvins,Sepultura, Jawbox,  Tad and L7  amongst others.

 

Peter  earned Recording Industry Association of America gold records for Meantime and  later with members of Handsome  for KRS One's I Got Next.      

 

A founding member of New York post-hardcore supergroup Handsome, featuring members of the Cromags and Quicksand Mengede recorded with Terry Date (Soundgarden, White Zombie, Pantera, Deftones) releasing Handsome's eponymous debut on Epic Records, touring with Corrosion of Conformity, The Deftones, the Descendents, and Silverchair. 

 

Mengede co-wrote, co-produced, and recorded " Just to Prove a Point" on KRS One's US RIAA Gold Certified " I Got Next".
